Weather story ! post no. 2 - Blog Marathon

Winters are slowly starting to wind up here. It is trying it's best to make sure that we do not forget her easily, so some days she lies low and yet another day she strikes a full blow of cold, very cold wind.

I do not know if I like winters better or it is summer that I yearn for.  I think I like a bit of both, that time when winter is slowly fading away and spring is just waiting around the corner. Also those months such as October where winter plays hide and seek with autumn and when one fine day when we wake up we are welcomed with a beautiful view  of dew drops on yellow marigolds.

Interestingly weather plays a very important role in our lives, scorching summers witness early morning jams on the streets, and when sun is at its peak in the afternoon you can see people losing their cool, sweating and swearing at the same time.  Early mornings in winters, the streets wear a deserted look, only fog and cold winds give company to those few who venture out of their homes for work or to run an errand.

We are so blessed to be living in a city which gives us the glimpse of every weather in a years' time, winter, summer, spring, rain, autumn.  Every weather brings out an entirely different face of the city.

One thing is for sure I can not imagine a life without ample sunlight because in winters when for days together Sun refuses to come out in its full glory and just peeks from somewhere very very far the days look gloomy and sad and Monday's become all the more bluer.

Does that make me a summer person, may be yes.. may be not.. but when sun burns bright as if it will burn down the entire city I yearn for those very days of winter with its cold winds and foggy days that aggravated my longing for summer.

That makes me the typical Delhite who yearns for winters when it is summer and waits for summer when its winter...

  1. We clearly are the people of the tropics. No doubt. just like our sunny bright selves. aren't we?

Here in Chennai, we only have a mild winter and these days, when i start my walk in the mornings at 5.45 am, that little chillness that creeps on your skin initially has started to wane. bracing myself for the harsh summer already.
